CEO

Email: rab.khan@provigilant.co.uk

Dr. Rab Khan is a highly experienced physician and surgeon, as well as the co-founder of ProVigilant. With a lifelong passion for illness prevention, Dr. Khan recognized early on that the medical field often focuses on extending life without necessarily enhancing the quality of those extra years. His philosophy emphasizes equipping patients with the tools and skills to add life to their years, rather than just years to their life. ProVigilant was established to detect illnesses early and identify lifestyle changes that can improve an individual's quality of life as they age. Dr. Khan received his basic medical training at the University of London’s Royal Free School of Medicine. He then served as a Medical Officer in the Royal Air Force, starting as a General Practitioner and later training as a surgeon. In 1996, he earned the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and continued his surgical career in the Royal Air Force until retiring in 2004. Following this, he worked as an Emergency Department Consultant at Bedford Hospital. Seeking broader experience, he pursued General Practice training and became a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2007. Since then, Dr. Khan has worked as a Primary Care Specialist in both the NHS and private sector. His diverse roles include serving as a Cruise Ship Physician for P&O Cruises and Cunard, a travel specialist repatriating the sick and injured by air, and an expedition medicine doctor. He also holds a Diploma in Medical Care in Conflicts and Catastrophes, as well as a Master’s in Aesthetic Medicine. These experiences have given him a comprehensive view of medical care both in the UK and internationally. Dr. Khan is dedicated to understanding patient expectations and is a staunch advocate for a traditional model of patient care, where healthcare providers know their patients and act as partners on their healthcare journey. Beyond his professional life, Dr. Khan believes in living life as a journey rather than a destination. He enjoys travel, reading, scuba diving, sailing, trekking, and meeting new people.
